Storywise, to me the stories are not really related too much between the two. Besides, i dont care much about stories and movies, i just want to kill stuff My advice, read up on each and pick what you like best. Either way, if you like one or the other, you'll end up buying both eventually. |

u can get iether game, they are both stand alone, meaning if u only bought factions it would work just fine.
Just keep this is mind... prophecies: more mid-evilish normal rpg look, takes longer to lvl in, easier bosses. factions: has a very asian look, lvls fast, harder bosses i personly only bought factions, and i am enjoying it quite a bit, but i will probably also buy prophecies later. Another thing u might want to know is that factions players can get prophecies weapons(NOT ARMOR) by trading with people who have both prophecies and factions. In case there is a weapons skin from prophecies that greatly appeals to u. ither way u cant go wrong. |

Note that in Prophecies, your get more time to learn how to play your character properly before the monsters get pretty tough for beginners.

oh totally get phrophecies first. You get to make core classes that will be supported later, you get a better tutorial, you have a legimate access to fow, you get overall better skills, and well, that's it.

IMHO you should get the first GWs (prophecies.) Thom Bangalter pretty much covered it but(as said before) you get better skills, a bigger, better campaign, a nicer starting area(I always hate that I can't go back to it without making a new character) and basicly more "bang-for-your-buck." Hope this helps.
